The Tough Challenges of Caring for Our Families

| May 15, 2020

By far, the most rewarding aspect of this job is helping clients deal with the challenges in their lives. Helping people work through emotional decisions or a family crisis is especially important in making our jobs meaningful. Asset management and financial planning are great professional endeavors, but nothing is more worth doing than helping others achieve the goals that are the most important to them.

Overwhelmingly, our clients are thoughtful and caring people who want to do what is best for themselves and their families. The current crisis is creating challenges that surpass anything that most people will ever face in their lives. Issues of life and death are arriving simultaneously with extreme financial burdens. Those who are facing the loss of their businesses or their homes may also have elderly parents that are at risk and isolated. In normal times, the time and energy it takes to care for a parent is emotionally and physically draining. Our current crisis only makes this burden harder.

Our ability to help those of our clients who have shared this burden with us, and who have turned to us for advice, is humbling and adds great meaning to our calling. To those who are sacrificing part of their lives to care for those who cannot care for themselves, your work has not gone unnoticed. Your efforts inspire all of us and we all stand ready to help you in any way that we possibly can.
