Our End-of-the-Year Plea

| November 26, 2021

Every year at this time we receive last-minute requests that are time-sensitive. Year-end finances are always a challenge, but the ongoing disruptions caused by the pandemic magnify them. Many back-office personnel are still working from home. Often, they have children who will be out of school. The back-to-back holidays reduce the number of available workdays and stress the system. The result is that things just take longer. Sometimes, we do not know if something is done until after midnight on the 31st of December.

If you have an important financial event coming up, please let us know as soon as possible. Sometimes, failure to act with sufficient lead time can lead to significant tax penalties, particularly with retirement plans. Nobody’s back office can guarantee that last-minute requests get done.

Our goal is to make sure that our clients are not harmed by the rush of procrastinators who will flood the system in December. If you have something important coming up, we urge you to tell us now so that we can get ahead of it for you.

Thank you all for your business.
